IBA has decided to take an assessment test of all new entrants... last year they had a similar sort of test as well... English and Maths were tested and people who failed to clear the cutoff had to take remedial courses of their respective courses.. I suppose the pattern is going to be the same this time around as well...

YOUR ADMISSION WILL NOT BE UNDER JEOPARDY ...
So Any Misgivings should be cleared... Do prepare for the test by the way..cuz if you fail you may end up having only 3 courses in the first semester and two in the summers... so you won't be able to take advance courses...
and if you fail in enlgish.. Obviously you won't be able to take english grammar and composition, which is a prerequisite for SPEECH COMMUNICATION, a course of the 2nd semester..

well last year the English test was very much like the format we have in intermediate....Essays, Letters, grammar, do practice the full block letter... shouldn't be an issue by the way.... whereas maths will have much from the book by "BUDNICK"... ask any store in urdu bazar n ull get it...Last year was very very easy to be honest.. the test was really a walk in the park.. but if you don't have an engineering background do prepare...cheers..

Called the program office guy...Assesment Test will be on 15th.

what kind of maths does it have? like the one in intermediate..or the one they had in entry test?
Well they have Business Maths..which is close to intermediate.. if you've had maths in A levels or Inter..shouldn't be an issue at all...
but not to take it so light guyz..just go through all the formulae of intermediate maths and do not leave any part or question unsolved in the test...as i did.. :P

can u please specify what type of maths questions will be there?...like calculas, geometry, matrices?
Assessment tests were introduced last year.So, we cant be certain about the topics. Some of the likely areas have been mentioned above. Umm..English is going to be easy, hopefully. Whereas, Mathematics will be mostly business related. As recommended above, mathematics paper will be mostly from Budnick expectedly. I'll bring the book 2morrow.
Its going to be a two hour paper. Results will be announced by 18th. Make sure u get more than 60 marks out of 100 in each subject.
